01The client
About Pirruntha Silks
Pirruntha Silks is one of the notable fashion stores in Stuttgart, serving the city's South Asian community with traditional and ethnic wear and fashion accessories.
It processes customized orders for special occasions such as weddings, including authentic silk sarees, lehengas and ethnic ornaments in non-bullion metals. Demand is strong, and the store has a loyal customer base.
02The system before
The system before: WhatsApp, notes and spreadsheets
A custom order starts as an enquiry and ends as a purchase, with requirements and changes in between. All of it was managed manually across general-purpose tools such as WhatsApp, notes and spreadsheets:
Enquiries
Handled manually in general-purpose tools, with no dedicated system to track them.
Requirements
Occasion-specific requirements recorded by hand instead of as a structured order.
Customizations
Custom changes to sarees, lehengas and ornaments tracked manually alongside everything else.
Purchases
Purchases recorded manually, separately from the enquiries and requirements behind them.
The demand was there and the customers were loyal. Manual tools were what held the business back from scaling.
03The risk
Why it was risky to change
Custom orders for weddings and special occasions leave no room for error, and the store has to keep serving its customers while the platform is built.
RiskOrder accuracy
A custom order carries specific requirements. The platform has to capture them precisely, so what is made is what was asked for.
RiskCustomer loyalty
Loyal customers are used to a personal service. Moving them online has to keep that service, not add friction to it.
RiskSelling across Europe
Customers can order from anywhere in Europe, in retail or in bulk, so the platform has to handle both kinds of order consistently.
RiskContinuity
Enquiries and orders keep arriving during the build, so the move away from the current tools must not interrupt trading.
04The architecture
The architecture: one platform for every order, standard or custom
We are building a fully featured e-commerce platform where customers anywhere in Europe can buy ethnic wear and fashion accessories, and place customized orders, in retail or in bulk.
Coupon code and referral code modules are built in to support promotions and word-of-mouth growth, and an admin panel gives the team control of the e-commerce site.
What we engineered
-
E-commerce storefront
A fully featured online store for traditional and ethnic wear and fashion accessories.
-
Customized orders
Customers place customized orders for ethnic costumes and accessories for weddings and other occasions.
-
Retail and bulk, across Europe
Orders from customers anywhere in Europe, for single pieces or in bulk.
-
Coupon and referral codes
Modules for promotional coupon codes and customer referral codes.
-
Admin panel
A panel for the team to manage the e-commerce site.
Key design decisionCustom orders are placed through the same platform as standard purchases, so requirements are captured as part of the order rather than in a message thread.

The share of enquiries and orders handled in the platform instead of WhatsApp, notes and spreadsheets.

How often customized orders are fulfilled exactly as specified.

06Is this your situation?
Is your organization facing the same pattern?
This architecture fits specialist retailers and brands where:
- Customers order through WhatsApp, phone calls or social media messages.
- Custom or made-to-order work is tracked in notes and spreadsheets.
- Demand is there, but manual order handling limits how many customers you can serve.
- Loyal customers refer others, with no way to reward or track it.
An architecture audit maps how enquiries, orders and customizations flow through your business today, and what a single platform would change.
